I'm Sansika Suhan Waduge, an engineering undergraduate at the University of Moratuwa, based in Colombo, Sri Lanka. My work is in robotics and embedded systems — building machines that perceive something about the world and act on it.
Most of what I do sits across a boundary. On one side, ROS 2 and Jetson-class compute: multi-robot mapping, sensor fusion, autonomous navigation. On the other, the hardware underneath — processors and image pipelines written in Verilog and VHDL and synthesised onto an FPGA. Working both sides has made me suspicious of abstractions I haven't looked underneath at least once.
Alongside that I spent six months as an intern software engineer at GTN Technologies, on the backend team behind a global trading platform — Java and Spring Boot services, Kafka messaging and Redis, all in service of keeping live market data accurate. It's a different discipline from robotics, and a useful one: it taught me to measure before optimising and to distrust my instincts about where time actually goes.
My coursework spans embedded systems, robotics, machine learning, HCI and software engineering. Outside it I spend time on computer graphics, computer vision and CTF-style security problems.

Six months on the backend team behind a global trading and investment platform — the systems that take live prices from stock exchanges around the world and deliver them to trading apps.
Testing tool for live price feeds
A full-stack web app that lets QA engineers and developers run scripted checks against the real-time price connection client apps use — logging in, subscribing, and confirming each kind of message arrives correctly. Test runs are queued per user, configured from YAML profiles and archived to cloud storage for later review.
Shared data-quality library and monitoring dashboards
A reusable Java library that decides whether market data is healthy — which exchanges should be open right now, and which prices have gone stale — packaged so several monitoring tools could share one set of rules instead of each keeping its own. Integrated it into two dashboards, adding live market status, secured login and a history of past checks.
Real-time trading statistics service
A backend service that keeps a running average trade price for thousands of stocks, updated the moment each trade happens. Benchmarked competing designs on the most-traded symbols before choosing one, connected it to the existing data platform over a message queue, and built the tooling that checked its output figure-for-figure against the system it was replacing.
